Sales Engineer, Capital Equipment

Sales Engineer, Vehicle Testing Capital Equipment, £30,000 to £35,000 + bonus + Car, North of England (Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield). This is a great career opportunity for a capital equipment sales professional to join a leader in the field of vehicle testing equipment. Established for over 50 years this manufacturer supplies technically leading systems that enable clients to check vehicles quicker and more accurately than any other test equipment provider. Products range from a wide variety of instrumentation to fully integrated vehicle testing lanes. Clients include the MoD, VOSA (MOT testing centres) and hundreds of Fleet owners like Bus operators, Haulage and Transport Companies, Large Dealer Workshops, Local Authorities, etc. The role is a combination of new business development and account management.

Due to growth they require an experienced technical sales professional with capital equipment sales experience into the truck, fleet, bus and coach or vehicle testing sectors. You will be technically strong and proactive with solid account management skills and the proven ability to manage and balance the servicing of existing accounts together with building new business. You will possess strong commercial acumen and a consultative and honest approach to securing sales.

Having operated in the UK since 1990 this manufacturer are recognised as a leader in the field of vehicle testing and enjoys very low staff turnover due to their team ethic and investment into training and development. They are able to back up their abilities to deliver with case studies and testimonials and typically the sales process will include taking prospective customers to visit satisfied clients enabling them to experience firsthand the benefits that the products will provide.

To apply

* You will be a hands on and practical sales engineer (with a mechanical or electro-mechanical technical background) that has progressed into sales, perhaps from a manufacturing environment, an engineering apprenticeship or from being a graduate engineer.
* You will be a strong business developer with a proven history of breaking into and winning high valued capital equipment
* You will be ethical in your sales approach and be able to build and maintain a solid pipeline of new business
* You will be able to build strong business partnerships at all levels and sell in a consultative and advisory manner.
* You will be technically aware and boast solid general IT skills. A knowledge of the vehicle testing arena will be a distinct advantage.

Whilst the role is covering the whole of the north of the UK there are major accounts in Yorkshire and the North West and as such you are required to live in the triangle between North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside.

As the role has enormous future potential you will be an ambitious, entrepreneurial individual looking for a ten to fifteen year plus career move.

Interviews are planned throughout September and this is a robust recruitment selection process that will include psychometric testing, personality questionnaire and 360 degree third party referencing.
