Manufacturing sector 'preparing for future growth'
Companies in the manufacturing sector are gradually preparing for future growth as recruitment picks up, one expert has noted.
Hiring managers within the sector are becoming more active in anticipation of the industry experiencing a boost in demand and productivity in the coming months, according to Martin Warnes, managing director of reed.co.uk.
He explained that the company's most recent Job Index showed that there was a significant rise in demand for new workers in the manufacturing industry last month, which is sure to boost sales recruitment opportunities.
"The increase in manufacturing sector demand is particularly significant. Clearly while demand in the public sector falls back other areas are preparing for future growth, even though it is difficult to predict how robust this will be over the rest of the summer," Mr Warnes said.
Recently, Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said that the economic outlook is far more positive than at the start of the year, with companies likely to recruit in the near future.
